Kirkbymoorside History Group
The group was formed in 1998 by a couple of local residents who were concerned that the heritage of the town was being lost. Since then we have gone on to become one of the most active organisations in the town producing a wide range of publications, undertaking local projects and running events throughout the year. Find out more.
We’re keen to hear from anyone who would like to join the group and get involved – there’s always lots to do! You can also contact us if you have any queries about the history of Kirkbymoorside – if we can’t help we will always try to point you in the right direction.
Do you have a photograph or memorabilia that we could add to our archive? If so get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
Recent Events
Our recent Heritage Month of May saw two exhibitions and two talks take place in conjunction with the Community Library. We also hosted several guided walks around the historic town centre, all of which were well attended.
