Kirkby Compendium

This is a collection of ten different men from the town’s history. These individuals have had an impact in a whole range of spheres from gliders to tailoring, from the Crimean War to London during WWII, and were all from Kirkbymoorside.

Kirkby Compendium Continued… : This is a second collection of stories of ten remarkable women of the town. One of the stories takes us over the seas to Argentina, whilst the others stay closer to home in the world of midwifery and poetry. Learn about the life of Millie Harker through a long-forgotten diary and the role women played in the postal service in Kirkbymoorside.
